Verified interview challenge
Build an in-memory cloud storage service
Grow a file service from basic operations into a system with search, user capacity and compression.
Unlock with Full AccessThe challenge
Start with a small file service and extend it through copying, search, user capacity, eviction and compression. Each operation contributes to a result sequence, and failed operations must leave the stored state intact.
As the levels add features, file ownership and capacity interact with changes to names and sizes. This is an in-memory service exercise using opaque file names, so the work centres on its evolving behaviour rather than implementing a filesystem.
What you'll practise
Consistent operations
Keep file metadata and command results correct across successful and rejected operations.
Capacity accounting
Track ownership and space as copying, eviction and compression interact.
